BURBANK, CA. Madeleine Holly-Rosing, writer/creator of the graphic novel series Boston Metaphysical Society announced the launch of her campaign to fund the printing of Volume 2, which includes the four previously published sequels, The Scourge of the Mechanical Men, The Spirit of Rebellion, Ghosts and Demons, and The Book of Demons. It will be 176 pages and contain an exclusive ten-page story with art by Roberta Ingranata and a cover by Marguerite Sauvage. “I wanted to bring something special to the trade paperback with the new short story,” Ms. Holly-Rosing commented. “You can imagine how thrilled I was to have Roberta Ingranata come on board to do the art for the story and have a Marguerite Sauvage cover.”

The story, which is called, The Meeting, tells an early story of the character of Alma who is introduced in The Spirit of Rebellion. “The story is a snapshoot of what life was like for Alma before she met Samuel and Caitlin,” Ms. Holly-Rosing explained.

Ms. Holly-Rosing brings her background of TV and feature film writing to the world of comics along with a love of history and science fiction. The comic began online eight years ago and went to print with a special twenty-four page edition a year later. It was also consistently nominated for best webcomic by the Steampunk Chronicles Readers’ Choice Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015. In 2019, Source Point Press picked up the original six issue mini-series and the subsequent sequels.

A veteran of crowdfunding, Ms. Holly-Rosing has successfully funded her entire graphic novel series on Kickstarter along with her first ever audio drama, The Ghost Ship. This new campaign will include a brand new steam engine lapel pin as well as the flash drive and CD of The Ghost Ship in several reward tiers.
