“Inspired by Indonesian folklore, a silat student by day, bandit by night, Pitung fights the injustice of Batavia as Blackbull with his supernatural healing ability called Ajian Rawarontek.”
The story follows a silat martial arts student, Pitung, a boy who survives the devastating Wildfire that ravages Rawa Belong Village caused by bandits. Pitung lost everything that night. His parents, his brother (Ji’ih), and his childhood friends who began to distance themselves because of the tragedy (Ayesha, Gomar, and Joris). This life-changing event fuels Pitung’s vow to seek revenge by killing all the bandits in Batavia. In his quest for justice, he becomes the very thing he despises most: The Immortal Bandit, Blackbull.

In his mission to ambush the hideout of the Sumatran Tiger bandits, Blackbull accidentally finds a deadly weapon in the form of firecrackers that are ready to be distributed.
This makes Blackbull have to cross paths with his childhood friend and also love interest, Ayesha, who has her own quest to investigate the mastermind behind the fire in Rawa Belong in her creative ways.

So Bandits of Batavia is not just a tense Pencak Silat action with political flavor, not just about bandits with mystical “Ajian” abilities, but also a story of a group of friends trying to overcome their own trauma by seeking justice… or revenge?
