Pullbox Previews Bad Future, volume 1- “Even in the direst of dystopias, hope exists for those who know where to look”

THE FUTURE LOOKS DARK

BAD FUTURE – VOLUME 1 Takes a Look at the Shape of Things to Come

Los Angeles, CA – Climate change, corporate oligarchy, A.I.-takeover, toxic social media. These days, imagining the future can be downright bleak.

But even in the direst of dystopias, hope exists for those who know where to look.

Independent and mainstream comic creators have come together to launch BAD FUTURE: four stories and fifty plus pages of comics showcasing a variety of styles, but all taking a hard look at our dystopian future and asking how we can survive, find hope, and hold on to our humanity

“With the world becoming more dystopian, it imbues these stories with a new relevance. The themes feel more current; the emotions feel more raw and relatable,” adds series editor Andy Nordvall.

Stories include:

J3NY & ROXY, written by Travis Webb (Starlite, Battle Grapple Rebel), art by Romualdo Souza (The Rouge Hero, Lies and Shadow), colors by Brett Weldele (The Surrogates, Southland Tales), letters by Marina Leon. In a future where everything is sale, the most precious commodity is trust. Watch trailer here.

OBSOLESCENCE, written by Andy Nordvall (Nightmare Theater 3-D, Siren’s Song), art by Jorge Luis Gabotto (King of Pain, Lost in Tarnation). A cop in charge of protecting a monopoly on genetic enhancements finds himself targeted by the next generation of custom-designed humans.

THE CONTRACT, by Kaj Kunstmann (Cthulhu is Hard to Spell, Warhead). In a virtual world where people can upload their consciousness and live forever, a memory archivist searches for traces of the wife she left behind in the memories of others.
