Pullbox Kickstarter Spotlight on Worrywart- A standalone comic for anyone who ever wished Game of Thrones was sillier…

Funding on Kickstarter now, Worrywart is a self-contained short story about demonic royal family intrigue, chaotic cartoon violence and the true nature of happiness.

Demon Prince Grufwof is finding life as the heir to a colonised Earth a bit of a downer. Between the relentless poverty, cannibalism, and slaughter, it’s no wonder he needs a little help to get through the day. So His Majesty clings on to his childhood Worrywart, an enchanted imp whose touch blisses him out.

But his mother Queen Dowwof, the brutal conqueror who enslaved the planet, despairs at her son’s weakness. How will the peasantry respect him if he can’t cope with day-to-day life without a cuddle from the happiness goblin?

Really, she’s only got one choice – hire a deadly assassin to kill the Worrywart, with no limit on collateral as long as Grufwof technically survives.

Worrywart is a new self-contained one-off 32-page chaotic fantasy story from fun-yet-sad high concept writer Nick Bryan (Courier Z, Death of a Necromancer), one-of-a-kind artist Lane Lloyd (Grandma Tilly’s Hell-Tech Mech, Godpuncher) and chameleonic letterer Lettersquids (SoulD, Weird Work).

It’s a standalone fable about happiness, what we’ll do to get it, and more importantly, how we feel about other people having it. Also monsters blowing each other up with MASSIVE GUNS.

This is a long-time passion project from Nick, originally worked on with the fantastic Ryan Foust (Grief), before Lane came on board as artist, working off Ryan’s character designs. Cover colours provided by long-time collaborator David Cooper (Pirate Fun, Death of a Necromancer).

There’s also a bonus print by legendary Polish indie artist Lukas Kowalczuk (Futurequake, GWAR), showing her royal majesty Queen Dowwof in all her terrible glory, choking out a pesky hero.

If you’ve ever wished Game of Thrones was sillier, or that your favourite cartoons stopped to ponder the meaning of joy more, this is the comic for you. Back Worrywart on Kickstarter now!
