Blending a neon-soaked future dystopia with a Gaia-like world of beast-gods, spirit magic and a malevolent ancient evil, The Wilder is a genre-bending thrill right in the vein of Heavy Metal Magazine, but at its heart is a story about family, connection, and finding your place in chaos.
Co-created by Ben Canny and Liam Garrigan, friends and writing partners for the best part of 20 years. With shared passions in all things comics, video games, and film, they decided to give birth to some of the crazy ideas that have been rattling around their heads… the result is The Wilder!
Bringing their story to life is the awesome art of Axel Medellin, whose acclaimed work on Elephantmen and for Image, Metal Hurlant, Boom! Studios made him the perfect artist to weave both the futuristic hyper-colour Earth and the spirit magic realm of Mor together.
With Rob Jones (Griff Gristle, Thunderchild) joining as letterer and a stunning variant cover by Eisner Award winner John J. Pearson (In Bloom, Department of Truth, Mindset, Blood Moon), The Wilder has an epic international team behind it.
