Mythworks is excited to announce the Kickstarter launch of Glow #7, the latest installment of the acclaimed post-fantasy comic series by Ray Chou and Vincenzo Ferriero, founders of Mythworks. Featuring breathtaking art by Vinsensius Suriansoo and colors by Bryan Valenza, Carlos Martinos, and Cristian Docolomansky, Glow #7 continues the second story arc, Hearts & Minds, with a story focused on puppets, cults, and community.
Set in a world where magic catalyzed both an industrial revolution and a nuclear apocalypse, Glow follows the story of two siblings, Caszy and Koken, with the power to restore the world to its former glory. Half a millennia ago, an ancient and powerful empire known as Nymera developed a means to channel and store magical energy into a sticky blue substance known as glow, storing them into massive Towers across the world. With the aid of the Towers, the Nymerans brought peace and paradise into the world. Until one day the Towers fell.
Mutants and Magic, Witches and Warlords, Guns and Golems – all this and more in Glow, a post-apocalyptic techno fantasy! The seventh issue goes live on Kickstarter April 22th, 2025. Backers can expect stunning visuals, immersive worldbuilding, and beautiful collector’s rewards.

A Coming of Age Story
While Glow is set against a backdrop of magical ruin and political upheaval, at its heart, it’s a story about growing up. As the crew journeys across the fractured world of Aod, they face not only external threats but internal struggles: wrestling with identity, loyalty, and what kind of people they want to become. They’re learning to survive, to lead, and to trust, often forced to make hard choices in a world that offers no easy answers. In discovering the secrets of the past, they’re also discovering themselves: and shaping the future in the process.

A Magical Language
One of Glow‘s most distinctive features is the fully developed Nymeran language, crafted by conlangers Niamh Doyle and BenJamin Paul Johnson specifically for the series. Used throughout the comic for spells, magical technology, and immersive sound effects—much like katakana in manga—Nymeran adds a rich, sonic texture to the world. Whether etched into ancient artifacts, spoken in arcane rituals, or shouted during intense combat scenes, the language grounds the setting in a deep, lived-in authenticity.

A Mirror Darkly
At its core, Glow explores the way humanity creates tools to manipulate the world around them—and the consequences when those tools outpace understanding. In the world of Glow, magic is not just mystical power—it’s a stand-in for technology: industrial, military, and digital. The glow-fueled Towers of the old empire functioned like power plants, cell phone towers, and terraforming devices all at once, and their collapse triggered a magical apocalypse. Now, survivors scavenge ancient ruins like broken machines, repurposing what they don’t fully grasp. The series asks: What happens when a civilization builds its identity around power it can no longer control?

What People Are Saying
“I love this! There’s so much involved that I can’t wait until the next one is out. It’s kind of a bummer that it’s so short but there’s enough ‘extras’ packed into the back that it makes up for it. And the art, man-oh-man, do I love this art style.”
— Sara, Good Reads.
“I bought this at C2E2 this weekend and absolutely love it! I can’t wait for more!”
— Susan Kulasik, Good Reads.
“I love the art and now that we’re getting further into the story I’m curious to see where the world goes from here. Now that we know that there’s a greater power up for grabs, how far will people go to get it?”
