She-Hulk #27

She-Hulk #27 (Marvel – David / Moll / Avalon Studios / Sharpe)

She-Hulk’s quest to re-discover her inner hero takes her back to her old law firm and back to face Tony Stark when an innocent bystander from her previous mission finds himself wrongly accused for murder. Can she put the past behind her?

Finally Peter David does what the Shulkie fans have been waiting for… put together an incredible issue!  This month had the perfect combination of action, super-hero drama and tongue-in-cheek humor that has defined the She-Hulk title for years.  Tying into the previous storyline, Jenn finds herself compelled to go back to the site of her battle with the evil alien prince to clear the name of husband who had lost his wife to intergalactic ego-maniac.  Since she has been disbarred and is now simply a bounty hunter, Jennifer’s words don’t hold as much weight as they used to in court.  So, she has to call in her big shot lawyer “friends” or rivals as the case is, and we get a cameo from everyone’s favorite shell-head.  Great writing! Great art! great book!  Welcome back to the Peter David story we all wanted!
