My name is Arnav Kapoor, and I’m 16. Began creating this graphic novel during the COVID-19 pandemic as a way to cope with personal tragedies. It took me nearly three years to complete, i started writing it when i was 13.I wanted to achieve a professional look, so i dedicated significant time to the process, despite having no formal training. This project holds immense personal value, and I sincerely hope it brings entertainment and positivity to readers. This book is about David Davis, a scientist who is in grief due to the loss of his parents due to Covid-19. He comes in contact of a BLUE cosmic ball which the most powerful cosmic object, which gives him power/abilities when no one can even think of and he does not have any control over them, which can make him a killing machine, which he does not want to be.
I was always inclined towards drawing, sketching and creative writing. I used always feel like making comic books and made fan made projects on my favourite characters for my practice. During covid-19 pandemic , during the lockdown I got an idea to start a superhero comic book series. I thought of starting my independent series, as i wanted full creative control over my characters and stories. I just enjoyed myself while doing this and I felt like something was trying to come out of me creatively, and I felt I want to create stories which matter and will be remembered by people. I did not have any big inspirations when I was starting , yeah I was fascinated what marvel and Dc had done but mostly my biggest reason to keep doing this was the medium itself. Over time I have had some artists and writers who inspired me from comic book industry as I got introduced to their story and work. The first person is Rob liefeld, as I am also a self taught artist like him, I really got inspired by his journey, and the way he started off and even his struggles. The second person who inspired me was legendary artist Jack Kirby, his style , his work, And understanding of art really inspired me. As a writer or artist I always remember one his lines which he said in one his old interviews. He said that no matter what type of character we write, make or assume, a liitle bit of ourselves must remain in there.
I have already made 20-30 character concept arts, and planned the full slate with 50+ stories and titles in this series. I have Almost planned 20+ years and I am very very serious to make this a big comic book series and more mainstream. All I want is support from comic book readers, a chance, and I promise this series can be the next big comic book series and I will continue to entertain everyone and work hard.
