I am getting more and more jazzed about the upcoming Cap movie. Not necessarily one of my top five characters and one I think that has a tough “book to flesh” factor mostly because of the costume, but now that I know it is a WWII setting I am thinking this could be pretty phenomenal.
from imdb.com – Marvel Studios today confirmed that Sebastian Stan has been cast as Captain America’s sidekick Bucky Barnes.
The casting of Chris Evans in the lead role in The First Avenger: Captain America has also been ratified by Marvel, which puts to rest doubts among some fanboys when the initial revelation didn’t emanate from the studio itself. (Incidentally – or perhaps not – I had recently asked former Marvel chief Stan Lee why Marvel wasn’t more on the ball in announcing all this news via its own channels).
You may recall that, during the recent Captain America casting frenzy, Sebastian Stan was among those who were considered for the title role, prior to it being offered to Evans.
But at least he has landed the runners-up prize of Bucky. The Romanian-born 26-year-old has appeared in TV shows Kings and Gossip Girl and has film credits including The Covenant, time-travel comedy Hot Tub Time Machine
