The Unknown #4

The Unknown #4 (of 4) (Boom! – Waid / Oosterveer)

She has solved every mystery known to man. But there is one mystery that remains… UNKNOWN! Find out the answer in the epic conclusion to the critically acclaimed mini-series from Mark (KINGDOM COME) Waid and EXCALIBUR’s Minck Oosterveer.

You ever look forward to a movie and have it not only not live up to your heightened expectations, but just all-in-all stink?  This was my experience with the Matrix sequels or more recently Wolverine or Land of the Lost… Well, Mark Waid’s The Unknown is alot like that!

This series started off strong with a very promising premise and just went downhill from there.  This final issue is nothing more than a loosely connected series of pseudo-paranormal actions sequences that amalgamate to a non-sensical conclusion for this Sherlock Holmes tribute.  The only thing that was salvageable about this issue (and possibly the last) is Minck Oosterveer beautiful yet haunting art.

Issue Grade: D- (story), B (art)
