The Unwritten #3 (Vertigo – Carey / Gross)
Tom Taylor travels to the place where Frankenstein was conceived – the same place his father wrote the first Tommy Taylor book. And, of course, that can’t be just an innocent coincidence…
Continuing the acclaimed new series from the award-winning LUCIFER team of Mike Carey (X-Men, HELLBLAZER) and Peter Gross (FABLES, Chosen)!
The Unwritten unfrotunately keeps a balance of being very, very intruiging and having nothing happen. Mike Carey has shown a great deal of growth since the surrealistic plot of Faker but this book is still a tough one to get your arms around becasue of the headiness of it.
This issue has Tom coming to terms with the fact of who he is or rather what he is – sort of literary elemental – with the ability to tap literature for places, items and characters possibly. While I do enjoy a thinking suspence book, issue #3 went really nowhere. The killer who has hired to get Tom is still just lurking about outside… some more.
