As we get closer and closer to Blakest Night, things are really starting to pick up in the GLC.
The planet of Daxam has been overrun by Mongul’s Sinestro Corps, but Ion, a Daxum native, has other plans in mind. By unleashing the power held within, he turns the red Daxam sun yellow. Thus unleashing the Kryptionian-like powers of the Daxam people. See, the Daxamites are xenophobic and never travel off planet, even though they have the technology. I don’t remember that being a part of the DC mythos until a few years ago. If anyone knows where/when that came in drop me a line. Now the people of Daxam are charged up and ready for a fight, that is after they get organized.
While that is going on, Oa is in deep poodoo. The jailbreak from te science cells has thousands of intergalactic criminals, Green Lanterns, Red Lanterns, and Yellow Lanterns in a deadly free for all where the each faction has a major grudge against the GLC. Every side is taking heavy casualties and the fight is far from over.
Finally we see a major move by the Scared One and the Black Lantern faction. We don’t actually see a Black Lantern, but the Black Book and its Guardian do manage to….wait for it…BREAK OA!
Writing and art maintain their status quo, which is top notch!
