Abyss #2 (of 4)

ABYSS #2 (OF 4) (Red 5 Comics – Rubio / Marangon) – One of the best funny books out there, Red 5’s Abyss is worth six times the cover price compared to the laughs you’ll have reading this comic. Red 5 has this to say about their book, “To save San Francisco from a bomb, Eric Hoffman must don his father’s super-villain costume. But when he falls into the hands of The Arrow, Eric’s new-found reality is flipped upside-down again. Does he trust the hero, or the villain? From the creator of the parody film web phenomenon, “TROOPS”.“I had laughed out loud moments all throughout this issue. If it wasn’t the interactions between Eric and his dad, then it was his constant bickering with Quiver that had me in stitches. This book is the perfect mix of physical and intellectual humor while still developing a great mystery that makes you ask out loud, “What the heck is going on?” Kevin Rubio has crafted a story that is entertaining on so many levels, and when coupled with Lucas Marangon’s art makes Abyss the perfect “starter comic” for people new to the medium or those resistant to comics. This book, especially after issues 1-4 are collected, has the right mix of humor, action, madness, and mayhem to engage and entertain people of all ages. This is definetly a book the family can enjoy together.
