The Incredible Hulk #110 (Marvel – Pak / Pagulayan) Pak and Pagulayan knock one out of the park again with Hulk #110. I appreciate that Marvel is not just giving us the action packed ride of the World War Hulk books, but they are also giving us a look at the Hulk’s state of mind and emotional state. Pak has written the perfect yin to Hulk’s yang in Amadeus Cho. He’s like a mix of Rick Jones and the Leader (if the Leader were sane). He believes so much in the Hulk’s humanity that he’s willing to risk his life by pushing Hulk so close to his breaking point that I would not have faulted Hulk for smashing Cho into goo. In Hulk #110, we have it proven to us that Hulk is not a murderer. He’s only there to exact revenge on those who wronged him, and even there he’s resolve is beginning to falter. Will the Hulk hold onto his humanity? The coming months will tell.
