Wednesday morning Entertainment Weekly broke the news that publisher Yen Press will publish the manga-influenced Twilight: The Graphic Novel, Vol. 1 on March 16th 2010, with a reported first printing of 350k copies.

The original novel will be adapted by creator Young Kim (described by EW as “faithfully” translated) and Twilight author Stephanie Meyer will be involved with the project.

“I didn’t do the original ‘script’ for the book, so to speak,” Meyers tells EW. “But when I got the dialogue with the images, I did a lot of tinkering. In a couple of places, I asked for missing scenes to be inserted. For example, the conversation in the car that Bella and Edward have after she faints in Biology.”

Meyers goes on to tell the magazine that she isn’t necessarily done with Twilight forever.

“I’m not working on anything new Twilight-related now, and probably not for a while. But there’s still a possibility that I’ll go back and close some of the open doors,” she says.

EW will have a more extensive interview with the author in this week’s edition of the magazine.
