The Secret Origins of Kendra – Buffy the Vampire Slayer #13

BOOM! Studios, in partnership with 20th Century Fox, revealed a first look at a special issue, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #13, from acclaimed writer Jordie Bellaire (Redlands), Harvey Award-winning guest artist Rosemary Valero-O’Connell (Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me), colorists Raúl Angulo and Eleonora Bruni, and letterer Ed Dukeshire, along with visionary writer and director Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Marvel’s The Avengers), about Kendra before she came to Sunnydale, available in March 2020.

Before she became the Slayer, Kendra was a young woman in training on the island of Jamaica, fighting vampires under the guidance of her Watcher, and eagerly awaiting the day that she would be called to serve as the Chosen One. But when the vampires in her hometown get out of hand, threatening the safety of her people, will the young not-yet-Slayer have the strength to face them on her own? Or are the burdens too much for one teen to bear?

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER #13 features main cover art by David López (BlackHand IronHead), as well as variant covers by illustrator Becca Carey, artist Mirka Andolfo (Unnatural), and Valero-O’Connell.
