Amanda Hocking is the New York Times bestselling author of the Trylle trilogy and six additional self-published novels. After selling over a million copies of her books, primarily in eBook format, she is widely considered the exemplar of self-publishing success in the digital age. Hollowland is the first book in the young adult dystopian series ‘The Hollows’.
In Hollowland, a new pandemic sweeps the globe, and all over the world people are turning into mindless zombies. But for five people – siblings Remy and Max King, med student Blue Adams, rockstar Lazlo Durante and teenager Harlow Smith – it’s the start of a journey that they can never return from! Learn for the first time how the characters of Hollowland started their journeys as we go back to the very beginning of the story…
The creative team on the Hollowland graphic novel consists of New York Times bestselling author Tony Lee (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, X-Men Unlimited, Doctor Who), and features dynamic black and white manga-style artwork from Steve Uy (Uncanny X-Men, Avengers Initiative, JSA Classified). Amanda Hocking has personally overseen and approved all production stages on the project.
“I’m very excited. I really like how it’s turned out and the process of seeing it come to life,” said Amanda Hocking. “My fans are into e-books and they’re early adopters. The Hollowland novels have never been in physical bookstores so this will reach them. But the fans will also be able to get the graphic novel later.”
“One thing about working with Amanda that has been really exciting,” Dynamite CEO/Publisher Nick Barrucci said, “is that she understands comics, graphic novels and digital publishing. She has really helped to make this publishing project work. Just look at her history. She sold her [self-published] novels digitally on Amazon and she did it herself and built a huge dedicated audience.”
The 10 part series is available via comiXology, iVerse, Amazon Kindle, and Dark Horse Digital. Single chapters will only be available digitally. A print graphic novel will collect all 10 chapters, plus bonus material, and be published later this year after the work has been serialized digitally.
On May 29th, both Chapters 1 and 2 were released. Chapter 1 is free, and Chapter 2 and all other digital Chapters are $1.99 each. A new Chapter will be released every other week after launch date.
