Buck Rogers To Rocket On The Web

Here is a something that the other geek news sites have picked up on today.  It seems that a fella by the name of James Crawley has obtained the rights to the classic comic book space hero Buck Rodgers.  While I think the promo pic above looks marginal at best, the trailer, found below, look pretty damn cool.

According to Scifiwire.com: “James Cawley, whose Cawley Entertainment Company had obtained the rights to the character created back in 1928, said he was aiming for a “retro-contemporary” look to the show. But what exactly did that mean? And he also announced that he hoped to release 20 Buck Rogers episodes a year, starting in late in 2010.”

I hope it takes off and is awesome.  Joss Whedon’s Dr. Horrible’s Sing-A-Long Blog has taught us that the power of the internet serial / miniseries can be a powerful thing.
