The Twelve #8

The Twelve #8 (of 12) (Marvel – Straczynski / Weston / Chuckry / Betancourt)

The Black Widow’s secret! The Fiery Mask, accused! And Electro lives again!

For the life of me, I have no idea why Marvel is not promoting this book harder. It has consistently been a home run every month! The art is well above average, but the story of these twelve pulp heroes trying to make their way in today’s world is addicting. Whether it’s that they are dealing with their own prejudices as it relates to the world around them (inter-racial marriage as an example), or the fact that justice is no longer swift and simply black and white (but why can’t we just gun down the villains?). There is simply no two ways about, this is one of the top books Marvel has printed this year!

This issue we get the origin of the Black Widow (cool and sexy!), possible secrets behind the Fiery Mask’s story, Excello has an ace up his sleeve and the Blue Blade has something more to offer than simply ego and flamboyance.
