Titans #2

TITANS #2 ( DC / Winick / Benitez / Llamas )

The Titans hunt continues as all known Titans are being stalked and attacked! Can Nightwing, Beast Boy, Raven, Cyborg, Starfire, Red Arrow, and Donna Troy survive long enough to discover the identity of their mysterious foe?

I don’t think I have seen a book fall farther as quick as this book has. It reminded me of the Image books of the mid-nineties, and not in a good way. I felt the first issue was a great retelling of a classic story, but the second issue is like a Liefield nightmare, all style but totally devoid of plot, poise, purpose, or even a point. These things are attempted, but the characters are emoting on the same level of a Troma star. Or in some cases worse. AND this is yet another issue this week where the art does not match up with the dialog in the least. Nightwing is scowling the entire book, no matter what he’s saying. Meanwhile Starfire, Raven, and Donna pose like anorexic costume whores who are just asked to solve a complex Algebra problem. Overall, very disappointing. Mr. Winick, you’re better than this.
