The Misadventures of Clark and Jefferson #3

The Misadventures of Clark and Jefferson #3 (Ape Entertainment- Carvajal / Borstel) – The folks over at Ape Entertainment bring us yet another great issue following the best Sci-fi / Old West heroes this side of Brisco County Jr. and James West. In the third installment, the alien antagonists have turned up the heat and widen the breadth of their attack. Only through a true melodramatic “die with-your-boots-on” True Grit attitude do the sheriff, deputy, Dead-Eye Mary and the rest of the hold-outs at the Fort make it through the night. After their survival, their minds are set and our heroes decide it’s time to turn the tables on the little green men and take the fight to them. It would seem the first two issues, which I have thoroughly enjoyed were set-up for the massive action to begin in issue #3. The writing is rich, lined with both humor and drama, allowing for both character development and the story to flow. The art is not only well-done, but it’s a blast to look at… dramatic poses, guns ablazing, close up of the aliens getting theirs. This is a book not to be missed! The issue ends with our heroes making it the mother ship, finding unlikely allies in the form of captured American Indians and a temporary alliance is formed to force an assault on the common enemy. Looking forward to the big finale!
