DC Infinite Halloween Special (DC – Various) – This one shot anthology book’s creator list reads like a geek celebrity guest list: Paul Dini, Steve Niles, Mark Waid, Steve Seagal, Dan DiDio, Dan Abnett, Andy Lanning, Peter Johnson, Tony Daniel,David Arquette, Marc Bernardin, Cliff Dorfman, Ian Churchill, Dean Ormston, Dustin Nguyen , Bernard Chang, Kelley Jones, and the list goes on. The biggest issue with this one-shot is the main issues with most “collection” books… some of the stories you love, some of them, you wouldn’t have picked up in the first place. But to be honest, the majority of these short “ghost stories” told by the Arkham inmates to one another are quite well told and in-step with the DCU’s current story lines… from Red Rain to a Bizarro tale to Flash history to Shadowpact-related Charlie Brown tribute. If you are a fan of any major DC book, odds are you would find this enjoyable. But, the $5.99 cover price is the only real reason that the sales might be low for this book. You definetly want to put this on your “hey friend, can I read your copy when you are done” list though.
Grade: B- (due to some throwaway stories and a high price tag)
